The Money Management Institute (MMI) is excited to share the winners of the 2025 Executive IQ Capstone Innovation Project, revealed during the online graduation ceremony celebrating the fourth cohort of the Executive IQ® by Money Management Institute leadership accelerator program.
Developed in collaboration with PwC and the University of Virginia’s Darden Executive Education & Lifelong Learning program, the three-month Capstone Innovation Project applies program lessons to a real-world experience.
Team ProdX earned top honors this year with its unified data intelligence platform designed specifically for asset management firms to solve the challenge of efficiently bringing together internal and external data. The ProdX platform reframes the way product teams interact with information by providing a seamless bridge between internal proprietary data and external market data delivered via a user-friendly software service. It unifies previously siloed data and delivers real-time, actionable insights to drive product strategy. Congratulations to Team ProdX: Laurie Mavrokefalos (Capital Group), Chris Rooney (Impax Asset Management), Laura Valentine (Bank of America | Merrill Lynch), and Nick Walstrom (Principal).
“The Capstone Innovation Project continues to be a powerful proving ground for creative ideas and leadership in action,” said MMI President and CEO Craig Pfeiffer. “This year’s teams pushed beyond convention to deliver forward-thinking solutions. Their work reflects the vision of Executive IQ to equip participants to not only adapt to change, but to drive it.”
Three finalists were selected from a field of 13 Capstone Innovation Project teams. The finalists presented their products during a live judging round. “Reviewing this year’s Capstone Innovation Projects was both inspiring and challenging,” said Richard Evans, Senior Associate Dean for Research Services and Support at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. “The creativity and diversity of perspectives were truly impressive. Every team, not just the finalists and winners, offered compelling solutions to real-world industry challenges, and I have no doubt that many of these ideas will find their way into practice.”
Tim Williams, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of MMI and Executive IQ Program Director, said, “Year after year, the Capstone Innovation Projects showcase the best of what this industry’s emerging leaders have to offer. This cohort is no different; I’m inspired by their energy and proud of their fresh ideas, collaborative spirit, and dedication to the process.”
The winning team will attend the 2025 MMI Annual Conference and share their ProdX prototype.
Mr. Pfeiffer concluded, “Advancing our industry depends on continuous learning and visionary thinking. MMI is proud to partner with Darden and PwC to empower the next generation.”
