Money Management Institute Announces New Officers, Executive Committee Members, and Governors

NEW YORK, NY – May 31, 2023 – The Money Management Institute (MMI) has announced the election of its new Officers and appointment of its Executive Committee Members, as well as six additions to its Board of Governors. 

The MMI Board has elected Brendan Clark, CEO at Clark Capital, as Treasurer and Jim Devaney, Head of US Distribution at PGIM, as Secretary. He joins Eric Koestner, General Partner at Edward Jones, and Chair-Elect Anne Steer, Head of Distribution at Congress Asset Management, Keith Glenfield, Northeast Division Executive at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management completes his term as Chair and will now serve as Chair Emeritus.

“It is an honor to lead the MMI Board of Governors and be given the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the organization’s mission and goals,” Koestner said. “I look forward to collaborating with the MMI Board, Executive Committee and our members to make a meaningful impact on the community we serve." 

There are two newly named members of the MMI Executive Committee:

  • Kara Julian, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management 
  • Scott Kilgallen, Managing Director, Head of NA Intermediary, Neuberger Berman 

They join continuing Executive Committee members Jill Brown, President, Principal Funds Distributor of Principal Asset Management, Robbie Cannon, Founder of Horizon Investments, Tom Morelli, US Intermediaries, Head of Wealth Management of T. Rowe Price, Matt Huss, SVP & General Manager Advisory Solutions of Ameriprise Financial Services, and MMI Officers Eric Koestner, Anne Steer, Brendan Clark, Jim Devaney, Keith Glenfield, and MMI President and CEO Craig Pfeiffer.

MMI thanks Noreen Beaman, Vice Chair Board of Directors, Orion Advisor Solutions for her contributions as an officer and Troy Thornton, Managing Director, Head of Americas Retail Client Business, Goldman Sachs for completing his term serving as an officer. 

Six firms have been elected to the MMI Board as part of a Board rotation policy that gives more member firms the opportunity to participate in MMI leadership. The new firms being added to the Board and their representatives are:

  • American Century Investments: Brian Schappert, SVP, Co-Head of US Intermediary Distribution
  • BlackRock: Jaime Magyera, COO and Head of Strategy, U.S. Wealth Business
  • BNY Mellon: Joel Hempel, President & Chief Operating Officer at Lockwood Advisors, Inc.
  • Broadridge: Tim Kresl, Principal of Distribution Insight
  • Madison Investments: Steve Carl, Chief Distribution Officer
  • Nuveen: Mark Connolly, Head of Global Strategic Relations

Sincere appreciation goes to the following firms and their Governors transitioning off the Board as part of the rotation policy:
