Money Management Institute Announces New Officers, Executive Committee Members, and Governors

NEW YORK, NY, May 1, 2025 – The Money Management Institute (MMI) has announced the election of its new Officers and appointment of its Executive Committee Members, as well as five additions to its Board of Governors.

The MMI Board has elected Kara Julian, previously with Morgan Stanley, as Secretary. Kara joins Jill Brown, President, Principal Funds Distributor of Principal Asset Management as Treasurer, and Chair-Elect Jim Devaney, Head of U.S. Distribution at PGIM. Brendan Clark, CEO of Clark Capital, was announced as Chair and Anne Steer, Head of Distribution at Congress Asset Management, completes her term as Chair and will now serve as Chair Emeritus.

“Assuming the role of Chair of the MMI Board of Governors is an honor, offering me the chance to contribute meaningfully to the organization’s mission and goals,” Mr. Clark said. “I look forward to partnering with the MMI Board, Executive Committee, and our esteemed members to foster positive change within the communities we serve."

MMI also announced two newly named members of the MMI Executive Committee:

  • David Giffen, Managing Director, UBS
  • Brian Schappert, SVP, Head of U.S. Intermediary Distribution, American Century Investments

They join continuing Executive Committee members:

  • Brad Jung, Head of North America, Advisor and Intermediary Solutions, Russell Investments, 
  • Scott Kilgallen, Managing Director, Head of NA Intermediary, Neuberger Berman, 
  • John McDonough, Head, Wealth Management Intermediaries, Invesco, 
  • Mike Serchen, Director of Managed Accounts, Anchor Capital, and
  • MMI Officers Jill Brown, Kara Julian, Brendan Clark, Jim Devaney, Anne Steer, and MMI President and CEO Craig Pfeiffer.

Five firms have been elected to the MMI Board as part of a Board rotation policy that allows more member firms to participate in MMI leadership. The new firms being added to the Board and their representatives are:

  • Blackstone: Sheila Rapple, Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Investor Services, Private Wealth Solutions Group
  • Capital Group: Pete Thatch, Senior Vice President, Head, Strategic Relationship Group
  • Cohen & Steers: Paul Zettl, Executive Vice President, Head of Global Marketing, Chief Marketing Officer
  • InvestCloud: Cheryl Nash, President, APL 
  • PGIM: Jim Devaney, Head of U.S. Distribution

Sincere appreciation goes to the following firms and their Governors transitioning off the Board as part of the rotation policy:
