Fidelity Investments Chairman and CEO Abigail P. Johnson and Arlen Oransky to be recognized at the 2026 MMI Annual Conference.
The Money Management Institute (MMI) has announced the recipients of two of its highest honors, recognizing leadership, service, and lasting contributions to the investment advisory industry and the MMI community.
Abigail P. Johnson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Investments, is the recipient of its 2026 Industry Leadership Award, recognizing her decades of leadership and enduring contributions to the evolution of the wealth and investment management industries. The recipient of the inaugural Distinguished Service Award is Arlen Oransky. Both will be honored during the 2026 MMI Annual Conference this fall in Boston, MA.
“These awards recognize two distinct but equally important forms of leadership that move our industry forward,” said Craig Pfeiffer, President and CEO of MMI. “The Industry Leadership Award celebrates the impact that exceptional leadership can have on the evolution of our industry and the positive impact on the clients we serve, while the Distinguished Service Award recognizes sustained leadership, collaboration, and service that strengthens both MMI and the broader investment advisory community. We are proud to recognize this year’s honorees and their contributions.”
2026 Industry Leadership Award
The MMI Industry Leadership Award, previously known as the Pioneer Award, recognizes exceptional leadership and lasting impact on the wealth and asset management industry. Johnson was selected by the MMI Board of Governors from a distinguished group of nominees.
Under Johnson's leadership, Fidelity has continued to build its position as one of the world's leading diversified financial services firms, serving individuals, families, employers, wealth management firms, and institutions. Today, the firm oversees approximately $19.9 trillion in assets under administration, including $7.8 trillion in managed assets, while continuing to invest in technology, workplace retirement solutions, and innovative investment capabilities that help clients achieve better financial outcomes.
“Fidelity has a long history of helping customers and clients navigate an evolving investment landscape through innovation, strong partnerships, and a commitment to delivering long-term value,” said Abigail P. Johnson. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our associates and their unwavering focus on serving investors, advisors, and institutions. We remain committed to investing in the technology, capabilities, and solutions that help meet the evolving needs of our customers and clients and support the continued growth of our industry.”
2026 Distinguished Service Award
New this year, the MMI Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual whose influence extends beyond their own organization to strengthen the broader investment advisory ecosystem while making sustained contributions to the growth, mission, and impact of MMI.
Those honored with the Distinguished Service Award exemplify MMI’s values of Participating with Intent, Solving Together, and Thinking Forward. The award celebrates leaders whose careers have strengthened the investment advisory ecosystem and whose contributions have left a lasting mark on both MMI and the industry.
Arlen Oransky, former Chief Membership Officer of MMI, has been selected as the inaugural recipient in recognition of his leadership, service, and contributions to MMI and the investment advisory industry. Arlen’s four decades in the industry have been marked by many accomplishments. He co-authored The New Managed Account Solutions Handbook: How to Build Your Financial Advisory Practice Using Managed Account Solutions with Steve Gresham, a pivotal guidebook designed to help financial advisors adapt to evolving client expectations and industry dynamics. He was also recognized as a Legend of WealthTech by the LifeYield podcast for playing an integral part in MMI’s growth from a small group of separately managed accounts (SMAs) advocates to the broader institution it is now.
Arlen also contributed his expertise to the launch of MMI’s Thrive initiative. Thrive helps emerging asset managers grow with greater confidence by connecting them with experienced peers, practical insights, leading wealth platforms, and expert solutions providers that accelerate business growth. Since its launch, Thrive has made strides in this community through the Emerging Asset Managers Forum, MMI Emerging Asset Managers Community, and CEO Roundtable, all of which Arlen has played a central leadership role.
“I am deeply honored to receive MMI’s inaugural Distinguished Service Award. To be recognized by an organization that has meant so much to me makes this especially meaningful," said Arlen Oransky. "Over the course of my career, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside extraordinary colleagues and industry leaders who share a commitment to advancing our profession and serving our community. This recognition is something I will always treasure.”
Johnson and Oransky will be formally recognized at the 2026 MMI Annual Conference, where leaders from across the wealth and asset management industries will come together to exchange ideas, build connections, and help shape the future of investment advice.
