Washington, DC, May 5, 2016 – The Money Management Institute (MMI), the national association representing the $4.1 trillion investment advisory solutions and wealth management industry, announced today that it has honored Robert Noelke as its 2016 Advisory Solutions Pioneer. Mr. Noelke received the award at the Gateway to Leadership Industry Recognition Dinner on April 20th at the MMI Annual Convention in Washington, DC.
The Pioneer Award, first awarded in 1998, honors individuals who embody MMI’s mission to serve as an advocate and catalyst for the growth of the advisory solutions and wealth management industry.
“This award is bestowed annually on an industry leader who exemplifies the pioneer spirit,” said John Sweeney, MMI Chairman and Executive Vice President, Retirement and Investing Strategies at Fidelity Investments. “Bob Noelke recently retired from Lord Abbett, where he spent his career refining the art of investment distribution and spreading the discipline of advice. Leading his group with an unrelenting emphasis on process, focus, and educational integrity, he raised the industry bar by finding new ways to maximize a distribution team’s effectiveness.”
Mr. Noelke, who joins a prestigious list of 39 previous Pioneer Award winners, said, “I am honored to receive this highly coveted award from my industry peers. It is a humbling capstone to a career spent in an industry I love and a direct reflection of the high caliber of the colleagues with whom I was privileged to work.”
“Bob richly deserves this award in light of his career contributions to our industry and the unstinting support and guidance he has given to the Money Management Institute and our various initiatives,” said Craig Pfeiffer, MMI President and CEO. “Over the years, Bob has been instrumental in promoting the value of investment advice and the advisor-client relationship through his service as an MMI Governor and committee chairman as well as his other industry affiliations.”
Prior to his recent retirement, Mr. Noelke, who has more than 30 years of experience in the investment management industry, oversaw Lord Abbett’s Private Wealth Group. In that role, he directed the group’s portfolio specialists and sales managers who serve the firm’s distribution partners – wirehouses, global banks, independent advisors, regional brokers, and RIAs. He joined Lord Abbett in 1989 as a Regional Manager and was promoted to Midwestern Divisional Director in 1993. In 1996, he was promoted to National Sales Manager and named a Partner of the firm. Before joining Lord Abbett, Mr. Noelke worked for Van Kampen for seven years, and prior to that he was with Procter & Gamble, where he began his business career. Mr. Noelke served on the MMI Board of Governors and was Chairman of MMI’s Mutual Fund Committee. He also served on the Investment Company Institute Sales and Marketing Committee.
