MMI Research Update: Distribution of Alternative Investments through Wirehouses - May 2016

We are pleased to present the fifth edition of MMI’s research report on the Distribution of Alternative Investments through Wirehouses. The 67-page report, based on mutual fund and ETF data collected exclusively by MMI/Dover Financial from wirehouse firms for year-end 2015, explores trends in the retail distribution of alternative investments in the wirehouse channel and the factors that are driving investor and financial advisor demand for alternatives.

Released at the 2016 MMI Alternative Investments Forum held on May 5th, the report is a guide to understanding how alternative investments – both traditional and liquid – are being employed by wirehouse advisors. Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Wells Fargo and UBS participated in this initiative.

With the goal of making the report’s data and key findings easier to navigate and digest, the report has been completely redesigned this year. The new presentation-style format leverages graphics, charts, and bulleted text in an easy-to-read layout that highlights key findings and takeaways. We hope you find the new format valuable and welcome your feedback.
