The growth of Unified Managed Account Platforms across the managed advisory solutions industry is undeniable. Preliminary MMI/Dover Financial Research data suggest that UMA assets grew at greater than a 50% annualized rate in the second half of 2010. The move towards UMA as a solution is attributed to many factors including greater customization abilities, the growing availability of products and streamlined operations. However, perhaps the greatest driver has been the rise of model-based delivery of money manager strategies. Model-based delivery of UMAs is now firmly established as the dominant program type. While UMA platforms and capabilities are still evolving and maturing, there are still significant issues associated with implementing and maintaining models. In this exclusive MMI NetMeeting, industry experts will share insights on the key business, investment, operation and legal issues associated with executing a models-only UMA platform. Join Placemark CEO Lee Chertavian who will lead a discussion with Roger Paradiso of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Michael Bell of Curian Capital and Jed Laskowitz of J.P. Morgan Asset Management. |
