On the first day of the convention, attendees will hear information about key trends in the Managed Solutions Advisory Channel, followed by a keynote delivered by two of the industries most influential executives; Robert C. Doll, Blackrock Vice Chairman and Global Chief Investment Officer Equity, and Dr. Robert D. Hormats, Vice Chairman, Goldman Sachs International. Their keynote addresses, which will focus on today’s challenging market, promise to be insightful. Dr. Richard Marston, James Guy Professor of Finance, at the Wharton School of Business, will deliver his view of the “The Crisis – Lessons for Money Management” in a general session before afternoon breakout sessions on risk and retirement, rebuilding Wall Street, and efficiencies and innovation.
On the evening of March 26, 2009, MMI will host a fundraiser to benefit the Gateway to Leadership program. Gateway to Leadership is a partnership between MMI and the NAACP that focuses on the financial services industry, providing internships and career opportunities for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This year, MMI will hold a leadership recognition dinner to identify firms in the Managed Solutions industry who have demonstrated growth and innovation. All proceeds from this fundraising dinner will benefit MMI’s workplace diversity program, Gateway to Leadership, a 501(c)(3) charity. The dinner is open to all attendees.
Friday’s agenda opens with “Advisor Distribution Models and the New Reality: Implications for Wirehouse, RIA and Independent Markets”, and is followed by an “Economic Outlook: 2009 and Beyond,” “21st Century Strategies for Building Distribution & Increasing Operating Effectiveness,” and a special address from William Hambrecht, Founder, Chairman & CEO, WR Hambrecht & Co.

Individual reservations must be made directly with the hotel by calling 866-563-9792 (reference the MMI conference to receive the group rate).
