New York City-based global boutique Investment Management Firm is seeking an experienced Consultant Relations professional who will cultivate and maintain North American institutional consultant relationships.
The firm offers a broad array of value-oriented asset management products including alternative investments, separate accounts, sub-advised portfolios and mutual funds. Strategies include Value Equity, Small-Cap Value Equity, International Equity, Real Estate and Distressed Credit. We manage a total of approximately $14 billion and are looking to grow strategically, with an emphasis on enhancing our institutional business.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated entrepreneur with the knowledge and experience to be successful in establishing, developing, and solidifying relationships with pension fund consulting firms. The goal is to build both recognition and respect for our brand and strategies so that we are favorably considered when these consultants present investment opportunities to their clients. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a proven executor and able to communicate our strategies to appropriate audiences. He or she should be able to quickly embrace our deeply-ingrained philosophy and thrive in a hard working, collegial and entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Quickly understand and be able to communicate a deep knowledge of the firm’s investment strategies
- Establish, maintain and nurture relationships with research staff and field consultants of pension consulting firms
- Establish coverage and ensure accuracy and timeliness of consultant database updates
- Develop and execute a proactive pension consultant calling program
- Handle consultant inquiries quickly, accurately and efficiently
- Work closely and collegially with Sales, Marketing, and Portfolio Managers
- Stay informed about asset management trends and competitive strategies
- Provide market and consultant feedback to firm management, investment and sales teams
Qualifications:
- Extensive (10+ years) demonstrated investment management sales experience with at least 5 years focusing on consultants
- Excellent communication, presentation, time management and organizational skills
- Experience presenting complex financial products to sophisticated investors
- MBA or CFA a plus
